Rohan Devinda Wijesinha

Rohan was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2001, after completing Bachelor of Law at University of Wolverhampton and Bar Vocational Course at University of Cardiff. He was admitted into practice in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2003. For a short time, he practiced in Sri Lanka as an Attorney at Law and migrated to Australia. In 2011, Rohan was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia and has been practising as a solicitor in Australia ever since.
Rohan established Westgate Legal Associates in 2015 after accumulating experience in three jurisdictions, England and Wales, Sri Lanka, and Victoria. In Victoria he has 12 years of legal experience in private, community and government legal sectors. Since establishing Westgate Legal Associates, Rohan has been practising primarily in Family Violence Intervention order and Personal Safety Intervention order matters.
Rohan has a strong commitment to social justice and has a passion for assisting clients with an empathetic and respectful approach. Rohan has been a law lecturer at the Deakin University and Deakin College. Rohan played a leading role in establishing the Sri Lankan and Australian Lawyers Association (SALA). He is also a member of Sri Lankan Ex-Servicemen and Police Association of Australia (SLESPA).
Rohan is also a Migration Agent and works closely with Pride International Education and Migration consultants (Legal Practitioner Number – LPN 5511831.) He assists prospective and current students in making or renewing their students’ visas, whether in Australia or overseas. He has a very high success rate (over 97%) for student visa applications. He has also helped students to overcome visa rejections by successfully appealing their cases to the Administrative Appeal Tribunal (AAT).
